Jay is 25!

Jayson turned 25 years old today! The weird thing is, I could tell you all about the day he was born. It doesn't seem that long ago. I had a pretty average pregnancy with him, I gained lots of weight, was tired and had a nap with Ryan every afternoon. I was due January 29th. On the evening of the 20th, I started having labor pains. We took Ryan over to my mom's house to drop him off. Rick kept talking to my stomach telling the baby he was his uncle (he missed Ryan's birth because he was on his mission, so he was really excited about Jayson's birth!). We went up to the hospital and things were moving along okay, until Jayson turned posterior. That sure made things hurt! The labor pains all shifted to my back, and it was extremely uncomfortable laying flat. When he was born, his Dad let out an excited "Yes!". Jay had lots of dark, almost black, hair at first. In the hospital, he was already sucking his thumb. He was an extremely tired little guy. In his first pictures at the photographers when he was 10 days old, he slept through the whole session. They asked if I wanted to come back, but I told them it was okay, he always slept! He quickly turned into my chunkiest baby (until Kaden came along). Jayson has always been easy to get along with. As he started to grow, we saw that he was going to have a great sense of humor, and he loved to make people laugh. That hasn't changed much! Jayson was always really smart and athletic. I think a contributing factor to that was that he and Ryan were such great friends, and Jayson always wanted to keep up with his big brother and his friends. When Jay was little, we had a family who lived in an apartment above us that had two boys the same ages as our kids. Their boy Jayson's age was also named Jason. So, our Jayson became known in the neighborhood as "Buddy", because to not confuse people, Ryan always called him his buddy. Jay served an honorable mission to Brazil. Jayson is now living in the St. George area. He is married to the beautiful and intelligent Kassi (see the picture to see how gorgeous she is). They are both attending school and working. This is Jayson's final year of playing college baseball. It will be kind of sad to see the end of that era. Sure do love that boy!

That was fun to read! You guys are a cute family! I have to agree that kid does have a great sense of humor... just from what I have seen and what you tell me. I can't believe how crazy he was that one day we went on those rides in Logan... that was a shocker to me! I think he and Kassi should get an award for the funniest blog page! They crack me up!
