*Greg sent this picture this morning from Baker, OR laughing that they have an In and Out Burger there (Not quite the same thing!).
I am going to warn you from the start.....this is going to be a long and rambling post! (But since I am using this as a journal....here goes!) Last week, we got a call from Greg's brother and sister that their mom had driven from Nampa to a town in Oregon, had gotten a flat tire and was stranded. The major problem was that she was not sure where she was or how she got there. We have noticed that she has been having some problems lately with showing some signs of dementia and have been worried about her. The nice lady where she stopped drove her home to Nampa, and Greg's sister-in-law met her to take Kaye to the doctor. The doctor was not that worried, so Anita left and went back to Pocatello. We still knew that we were going to have to start working on getting her moved nearer to family though. Well, a couple of days ago, she took off to a gas station and told people that her car had been stolen. The police that responded when finding out that that is not what happened took her to the hospital. When she got there they found she had very high levels of aspirin in her blood stream, so they had to keep her longer. At 2:00 this morning, I dropped Greg off to the Greyhound bus. He rode the bus to Baker, OR. The nice lady that took his mom home met up with him and took him to her car. Her shop had put a new tire on it and serviced it (there are some really Christ-like people in this world!). Greg drove to Nampa to see if he could check his mom out and bring her either home or to Pocatello. Well, the doctor at the medical hospital's orders were that she needed admitted to a behavioral hospital for 72 hours. When Greg called me he was pretty choked up. Because they had to transport her to the behavioral hospital, they have to put the patient in handcuffs. That was an awful thing for him to have to witness. He said his mom handled it really well. She didn't like it, but she understood why. He said she seemed very lucid. I am hoping they will decide it is a medication and being alone issue, and she will be doing well soon.

This morning, one of my cute former students showed up on my doorstep with brownies. It was so incredibly cute! Kaden had begged for crepes for days....so I finally made them this morning, Kaden ate four.....I wonder where the skinny guy puts it! Then we took Kaden to the orthodontist to get his bottom braces on. He really didn't want to pose for these pictures, but I made him!

Tyson had a baseball practice in Clearfield for a team he is going to be playing for next week. While he was there, we ran and did some shopping. After the practice, Kaden talked me into taking them to Tempenyaki for dinner. They loved it!

Here are the two boys as we wait for our chef. Tyson wants me to point out that he got a new baseball necklace today. The chef comes to the grill right at the bar where you are seated to cook your food. They were wowed by the flames, the chopping, the throwing of the shrimp to your mouth....pretty much all of it. The chef made a tower out of raw onion rings. He then put oil in the middle and lit it on fire. He yelled out, "Someone call 911!" He then pulled out a 10 inch boy doll. Its pants slide down and it "pees" out water on the flame and then the onion tower looks like a volcano. Needless to say, this was a hit with 2 little boys....and I must admit....I laughed pretty hard myself. I told them on the way home, this is probably the only time they are going there...it is kind of pricey, but it was really fun.

One last note....when I was a kid and we would see one of these cars, we would yell out, "Slug Bug" and hit someone on the arm. Well, my family has changed the game...thanks to Greg and all his wisdom. Anytime they now see ANY Volkswagon brand car, they yell "Blue one" or "Red one" or whatever color and slug you. I am horrible at this game! I never have paid attention to brand names of cars, and when I am the one driving I need to keep my eyes on the road. On the way to Clearfield today, I think I got slugged (not very hard, thank goodness) a million times. I was trying to discourage it, when I get a text from Greg that says, "Blue one". Boys are all alike!
