Tyson competed in the Home Run Derby. He had the opportunity to swing the bat 5 times. Greg pitched to him, and he hit 4 of the 5 pitches over the fence! The other ball he swung at hit the fence. The kid has an amazing swing!
Here Tyson is standing by the results of the derby. If you can tell, the kid closest to him hit 2 home runs. He won a $30 gift certificate that he used to buy an under armor shirt that had the world series logo on it.
After the skills competition, the boys had the opportunity to meet up with all the teams in the series - there were 38 in the 10U bracket, and about 54 in the 12U. The teams each had purchased trading pins with their own team logo on them. Tyson's team also bought golf towels that clip on the boys' bat bags with their number and team logo embroidered on them. Tyson got to trade pins with the other teams and collect quite an assortment of pins. After the trading, the town blocked off Main Street for a parade of all the teams. Here is a photo of Tyson's team coming down the street.
After the parade, we took a walk along Main Street with Jayson and Kassi (they are wonderful at coming and supporting us). We met a moose.......
We tried to talk Kaden into puckering up for a kiss......I think we need to give him some pointers on how to pucker!
And then there is my nutty husband.......
While spending the week, we decided to have some fun other than baseball. We headed up the mountain for the slide! Here is a picture of Kyler, Tyson and Kaden before boarding. Greg, Jayson and I also went. It was fun riding up the hill and seeing all the creatures and the beautiful mountainside below us as we traveled. The slide was a lot of fun. It took a lot of convincing to get Kaden to go, but afterward he kept asking if we could go another time.
Tyson and Greg also rode the coaster on the mountain. Ty was a little bit nervous and rode the brake a bit, but he loved it! Greg said it was a pretty fun ride.
Tyson's stats from five games at the Triple Crown World Series: Batting- 10 of 14 (.714 BA), 7 runs, 11 RBI, 3 doubles, HR and was hit by pitch once.
During the ball games, Kaden spent a lot of time with his magnifying glass burning holes in things.....and as you can tell....Jayson is still a little boy at heart too!
Pitching: 2 appearances- 4.1 innings pitched, 1 hit, 5 runs, 7 BB (ouch!), 9 K, a little wild but when he did throw a strike they couldn't hit it! The sad thing was, the Horns decided to watch the ball and try to walk. A lot of the batters had 2 strikes on them when they ended up walking.
The jerseys the boys are wearing in this picture were a surprise gift from the coach when we got down to Park City. They are awesome looking....but unfortunately, our last name is spelled wrong on the back! I told Ty not to mention it because it was a very generous surprise gift.
The season came to end with a one run loss to Fort Collins (Colorado state champs). They ended the year with about 46 wins and 15 losses.
At the end of a fun and long and fun season...the Sidewinders ended up 9th in division one of the triple crown world series. They won the USSSA Utah State Championship, and won the 11U Pioneer Day tournament as a group of 10U boys. They had a great season! We can't wait for next year!

Looks like a fun week! Love Tyson smile...
We stayed in Park City Friday Night. We were at the Yarrow. There was a baseball team there, we had no idea what tournament it was. Looks like you had a great week. It's fun to see how Tyson just gets better and better. What a kid....tell him congrats!
