On Sunday, the third, we drove to Pocatello after church. Greg needed to go and check on his mom. She is struggling with Dementia. We got to visit with my folks, Ryan, Kristen, Carter, Kami, and Kim, Kortlan, and Kendrie. The kids lit off some fireworks. As we went to leave, Carter was sad to leave Grandpa, so I told Kristen I might make it to his t-ball game on Wednesday and wanted to bring him home with me. On Monday, the Fourth of July, Dave, Kristen, Madison, Kenzie, and some of their house girls came up this way. We met up with them at Kassi's grandparents' house to watch the Perry parade. The kids got way too much candy! After the parade, we came back to our house and had a bbq. Greg made a fire in the pit and we roasted hot dogs. The Archer clan had to head home soon after, but Jayson and Kassi stuck around and attended the neighborhood annual potluck supper and fireworks show. It was great to have them around. Tuesday, Tyson's baseball team started their state championship games. Greg took Tyson to Salt Lake for a double header while Kaden and I stayed home to get some much needed work caught up. Kaden was awesome and mowed the whole lawn while I weeded. Wednesday morning, the boys and I drove to Pocatello to watch Carter play t-ball. He did awesome! We brought him home with us afterward. I would have loved to have brought Kami with me too, but I am pretty sure after a couple of hours when she got tired, I would not be who she wanted.

Wednesday night we drove to Salt Lake for Tyson's game. Kaden set up a tent for shade, we had bought some walkie-talkies that ended up being a hit for all the little boys who come to the games, and Kaden had brought a whole suitcase of cars. Life was good.....and the Sidewinders won. That put their team on for Friday night for the Championship game. Only problem was....we were having a birthday party at our house for Madison's fifth birthday.

Here is Miss Maddie the five-year-old with the doll and hat we bought her. (I will post better pictures when Kris sends me some.) When she opened the hat, she was excited and put it on. Makenzie yelled out, "My Jessie hat!" and came running over and took it off of Maddie and put it on her head. When Dave and Kris told her it was not hers, she was heart-broken and started to cry. I feel terrible I didn't buy two hats! She was sobbing when Maddie opened the doll. As soon as she saw it, she stopped crying and yelled out that it was a Jessie doll, but when Dave explained it was Maddie's too, she started right back to sobbing again. It was so cute...but broke my heart. I sure love grandkids! I felt bad Greg and Tyson missed the birthday party, but I guess it was an exciting time at the ballpark. The Sidewinders lost the first game, so the X-Treme had to play them again. After a second tough game, the Sidewinders ended up victorious and Tyson has a cool trophy and championship ring to prove it.

Saturday morning we got up and headed back to Pocatello. My Grandma Brown's maiden name was Behrend, and the Behrend family reunion was at Ross Park there. It was fun to have Ryan and his family there along with Jayson and Kassi. It was great to see my Uncle Bob, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Bruce and Aunt Marilyn. I hadn't seen my mom's Aunt Pat for a lot of years, so it was great to see her. I met lots of other relatives, and saw a couple of my cousins. It was fun to catch up. My brother Doug and his family were also at the reunion. I got to meet my great nephew Hayden for the first time, and he is adorable. Kristen took some good pictures, so I will have to post some of them when I get them.

Greg snapped a couple of pictures of my Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Behrend that someone had at the reunion. The kids all went swimming at the pool for a while and had a lot of fun. As the reunion ended, my brothers Rod and Jim showed up from driving to St. George to pick up a car. It as good to see them. Families are so much fun!

So I don't think I ever thanked you for letting Carter come and stay. As much as I miss him when he's gone, I'm glad he has so much fun when he's there.
