July 4

Since Kaden and I were loners for the Fourth of July, we headed up to Pocatello to celebrate with my family.  We left on the third and came home on the 6th.  When we got up on the Fourth, my mom was finishing up her famous potato salad and needed to add onions.  I laughed at her when she put on plastic gloves.  She was getting her nails done later and didn't want her hands to stink for the poor nail technician!   While mom got her nails done and Ryan sold fireworks, Kaden and I went with Kristen and the kids to the Pocatello parade.  It was really hot, but it was fun to see the kids getting all the candy.

After the parade was over Kaden and I headed up to the nursing home to visit Greg's mom.  Kaden doesn't really like going there and was trying to convince me Grandma Kaye wouldn't remember him.  Well, soon after getting to her room and talking to her, she asked if he would mind playing the piano for her (so she definitely did remember!).  He was a good sport and played for her and a few other ladies.

Mom and Dad had a barbecue and Terrell and Ann, Chelsea and Will with Cameron, Jim and Kim, and Kendrie and Kortlan all came.  We had some yummy barbecued steaks.  It was fun talking to everyone.

I had made some cupcakes.  Mom was telling people they were a flag and I kept acting like she was making me mad because they should be able to tell these cupcakes were a flag....right?

These goofy kids made me laugh, all of them with their cell phones in their hands.

After the bbq, my dad headed to bed since he had to be up early to work.  Mom came with me and Kaden and we headed over to Ryan and Kristen's to watch fireworks.  The wind was really whipping, so they were delayed for a while, but Ryan and his neighbors kept us entertained while they lit some.

Sophie didn't like the flash on my camera.

The first picture was fine, but then she was shielding her eyes!
