Seattle

Here we are in front of the Pike Street Farmer's Market
We reached Seattle today. We stopped first at the Pike Street Market which is a really neat place. It was originally opened in Seattle as a way for the people to get rid of the middle-man, so no chain stores are allowed to sell stuff there. There were tons of beautiful flowers at fabulous prices. There were lots of fruit stands and fish markets. There were restaurants, and all sorts of different shops. It was amazing and huge. It covered a lot of blocks and I felt like even though we walked a ton, that we only saw a small portion of it.
The fish is in the air above the guy's head to the right.
In one of the fish sections, they "throw" the fish when someone buys some. It was so much fun to watch. The workers there had a lot of theatrical ability.
The two menfolk in the picture have HUGE crabs in their hands.....Kaden kept leaning forward more and more because Greg kept trying to touch him with the crab.
After the market, we found the Pioneer Newspaper Office so that Greg could go in and talk to the owners of the chain of newspapers for a while. So, even though Greg is on furlough.....is work really not being done?
Captain Kaden is ready for rough seas!
Tyson being "cheesy".
Afterward, we went and found the "Ride the Ducks" tours place. It was soooo much fun! First of all, they sell you these "quackers" that are like a whistle the kids wear, but when they blow, they quack.
You can see the "quackers" around the boys necks.
(Yes, we bought Maddie and Carter a set of quackers too!) You board amphibious vehicles that can go on land or in the water.
You can see the cool vehicle in the background!
They took us all over downtown Seattle to see the sites, and then it went in to the water at Union Bay to take us around there. The boys (and lets face it.....me too!) were really impressed when we went straight from the road down into the water.
Here are the boys in front of the Space Needle.
Here is Tyson posing at the top of the Space Needle.
After that tour, we went to see the Space Needle. Greg and Tyson rode to the top of the Needle. Kaden is very nervous in elevators, and really didn't want to go, so he and I went and rode a ride at the carnival type area they have at the base of the Needle. It has a really fun atmosphere. We then drove on to Everett to our hotel. This is where Greg's Aunt Pat lives. We are meeting up with her in the morning for him to do some of his family research. We are having a lot of fun!

Glad you are having fun! Sounds like a fun vacation to me! I don't know why I am leaving a comment...I don't really have anything to say...I already text you about the ducks and how my phone started quacking really loud at the ballgame and everyone turned around and said "what was that!" Here's wishing you many more adventures this week!

And you thought you wouldn't be having a fun vacation! Oh but just remember, paybacks really stink :)
