Denver Punt, Pass, and Kick

Greg and Tyson drove to Denver this time.  The weather was awful and the roads were bad.  Greg had gotten in contact with a couple of kids Tyson played baseball with on the TCA National team.  The top picture is Tyson with Dom and the one below is Tyler.  They had dinner at Dave and Busters and the boys got to play some games.

This year our niece Stephanie's son Owen also made it to Denver to compete.  Greg was excited because he got to hang out with Terrell, Stephanie, Will, and Owen.  They went to Casa Bonita and enjoyed watching the divers.  Greg said they were great company.

The morning of the competition was bitter cold.  It was 5 degrees outside.  Tyson said the football was as hard as a rock.  Tyson's throw was dead on for 158 feet.  His kick was 110 feet and very straight.  Unfortunately his punt was off center about 8 yards, so by the time they deducted the yardage it only counted as 82 feet.  He took second, with the winner beating him by 10 feet.  The funny thing is, they take the top four winners to nationals.  Tyson's distances would have qualified him as fourth in the nation, but since he didn't win in Denver he couldn't advance.

Owen took third at Denver.  Greg said he did really well.

At the Broncos game, Greg said they about froze to death.

After the game, Greg started driving home.  The roads were awful.  They stopped in Rawlins to wait for hopefully better roads in the morning.  As you can see from the above picture, the wind was whipping about 40-50 miles per hour.
