It was fun to have most of the family here with us. We missed Jayson, Kassi and the babies, but knew that travel for them right now was impossible. We were able to use facetime to talk to Kassi during part of the party, and to talk to Jayson later when he got off of work.
Kaden and Greg were having a photo duel.
I loved my quilt and calendar! So fun!
Tyson and Kaden love their new blankets.
Ryan sniffing his new bacon scented deodorant the boys gave him. We had all read a bunch of reviews of sugar free gummy bears on the Amazon site describing extreme gastrointestinal problems after eating them....so of course, the boys gave some to Ryan.
And the annual Christmas story. Kenzie had given the prayer on the food earlier. She asked that we could have the Jesus story, that we could be nice to one another and not eat with our mouths full. Kenzie and Madison remembered that Kami really wanted to be Mary from last year. So, they came with a plan. Madison would be a shepherd and Sophie and Taylee would be sheep (that didn't work so well), Kenzie would be the angel, and of course Carter would be Joseph. Well, Carter is a little tired of being Joseph every year (can't really blame him), so asked him if I could bribe him. He went from having a stubborn look on his face to a very calculating one (I loved it!). He said it would be worth a ninjago guy for him to play Joseph. We shook on it, and Joseph got dressed.
Sure do love all these cute grandkids of ours!!
A week later, we were in Pocatello for my dad's retirement party. I looked in four stores and could find no single ninjago characters....so the bribe went up a little in value, but I kept my word!
We had the missionaries over the other night to give them our family Christmas gift. Tyson was showing them the sphere shaped remote control thing my mom gave him. After they left, Kaden, Tyson and Greg were playing with it. Greg challenged them to see if they could get it to land on the ledge between our great room and front entryway. Of course no one could do it and Tyson said it was dumb. Well, a couple of days later with a ton of practice, Tyson now do it. That boy gets determined when he is handed a challenge!
