Christmas Eve 2010

On Christmas Eve, Tyson had practice in Logan at the Spectrum at 11 a.m. for his Aggies team. We headed over and watched him for a couple of hours. Then we ran and had lunch at Costa Vida and did some shopping. Greg and Kaden needed new shoes. Greg bought a new IPad for his office. We did a bunch of browsing. Then we went and watched the movie "Secretariat." We had been wanting to see it. My mom had taken Kaden to it when she had him over Halloween, but the rest of us hadn't seen it yet. We really liked it. Then we headed out to our new holiday tradition we started last year and had Chinese food. When we got to the restaurant, the hostess went to seat us, but Greg asked for the table across the aisle because it was the same one we had last year. After dinner, we headed back home. We read the Christmas story from the Bible, opened our Christmas pajamas, the boys opened their IPods they knew they were getting and couldn't wait for, and then watched "The Christmas Story" movie. I had been doing the 12 days of Christmas for Greg, and on this night, when Ralphie was asking for a bb gun.....I asked Greg what Ralphie wanted, and then gave him his own bb gun and told him not to shoot his eye out! Here we are posed in our new pajamas. After the boys went to bed, I filled stockings and put out presents while Greg put together a couple of skateboards the boys got. Before we headed to bed, Greg made me go out on the back porch with him. I felt a little silly in my pj's. He told me to close my eyes and wish on a star. When I opened my eyes, he had a diamond necklace he had bought for me in front of my eyes. He told me that I do so much for everyone else at Christmas, he wanted to take care of me too! What a sweet man! I think him just being so sweet was Christmas enough (but I will keep the necklace too!).
