Parade and Fun Fishing

A week ago on Saturday it was Wheat and Beet days. Kris, Dave, and the girls came back to Tremonton for the parade and fun. I thought it was fun because when some of the commissioners and politicians came by, they were welcoming Dave "home". I loved that Tremonton can now be considered Dave's hometown! Here is Kenzie after getting her Leader hat with the feather poking up in back! The candy was a big hit for her. Madison called the morning of the parade when she found out that Grandpa was going to be in the parade. She decided she should be in the parade with him. And, being the fabulous Grandpa he is, he couldn't say no. Kaden was shooting pictures of the parade as a Leader employee...so he got this cute shot of the two of them. If you look close, you can see that Madison had to have on her crown to be a princess in the parade. Too funny! I have been working a lot this week. I knew I was going to be working all day Friday at a class, so I decided late Wednesday night after helping the boys walk their sheep (gearing up for the fair) that I was going to play hooky on Thursday. I called my parents and I called Kristen to see if any of them had plans. Luckily, everyone was going to be around. Then Kaden decided to call Grandpa and check to see if he would take him fishing. Luckily, my dad is a pushover, and he loves fishing. We headed to Pocatello and Dad had everything ready to go. We headed out to Blackfoot to Jensen's Grove. From the parking lot it was about 1/2 mile trek to the fishing spot Dad had in mind. Mom and Dad were great sports baiting hooks and helping to cast lines into the lake. Carter and Kamdyn thought that throwing rocks was really fun. Luckily they were talked into moving down a little to throw the rocks so that they weren't scaring any fish. I really didn't think that Kaden and Tyson would have the patience to sit and fish for long....but I was wrong. They were in heaven! My Dad was a great sport in helping them along. After a while, we trekked back to the entrance to take the two little ones to play on the toys. Our plan was to be back in Tremonton in time for Tyson to head to football practice, but the fishing was just too much fun. At the end of the day, Kami had a slight mishap. She was more scared than actually hurt, and I thought it was so cute that my Dad was the one she wanted to comfort her. Here is Tyson with the lone fish that was caught. He wasn't really sure he wanted to hold it up for the picture though. I was surprised that they caught anything in the heat of the day.....but Kaden also got a couple of bites. We had lots of fun. When we got back to Pocatello, I found out Tyson (while riding in my parent's car) had convinced them to buy Chinese food for dinner. So we stayed even later, which was a good thing, since that meant we got to visit with Ryan too. We had a great time! Thanks to my wonderful family!

Ok I am dying laughing with the fact that you put ALL of those pictures up! I figured I'd send them all to you so you would have a choice of the ones you wanted. You must have had a lot of patience to wait for blogger to put them all up!
