The Last Week of February

I thought I would give a quick run-down of the last week....since this is serving as my journal...family history...scrapbook, etc. Last Sunday was my turn to give the young women's lesson. After I taught, I ran back home and visited with Jayson and Kassi some more before they had to head back to St. George. It was great to get to see them. I can't wait until the end of March and getting to go see them and hopefully feel some warm weather! Mondays after school I have book club. Another teacher and I have about 30-35 kids come to my classroom to read. They have an after-school snack and read to us. At the end, we share a story with them. It is kind of fun. For family home evening we watched Star Trek together on the projector downstairs. It surprised me that I actually liked that movie. Tuesday after school, I went to mutual early. We ran around the ward boundaries and picked up donated food and took it to the food pantry here in Tremonton. The lady who runs the pantry gave us a tour, and talked to us about their system. Then we stocked the shelves with the donated food that we had brought. We were done by 5:30 because the pantry closed at 6:00. At 6:30 we ran over to the church for the annual cub scout blue and gold banquet. It was really fun. They had a Mexican Fiesta theme. They served tacos, nachos, burritos, etc. They had pinatas for the boys to hit. They all had a great time. A little after midnight, our good friend's mom, Yetta Karen Peterson Pierson died. We were really sad for the whole family, because we sure do love them all. This was the first person that our kids knew well that has passed away. The Piersons have been wonderful to our little boys and us, and they have called them Grandpa Reed and Grandma Yetta for years now. Yetta had been bed-ridden for the past couple of years, so for her to pass on is a blessing for her, but she will leave a hole in a lot of people's hearts here on earth. Wednesday after school Greg's team had baseball practice. Kaden and I ran out to Madison's dance lessons with Kristen and Makenzie. It was so much fun! Maddie is really good at listening to her teacher, but it was hilarious to watch those little girls with such short attention spans and watch how hard the little teacher has to work to keep them all dancing with her. You can tell Kris has been practicing the dances with Maddie at home....but of course she was the most talented too! Afterward, Kaden and I ran a few errands before running home to get dinner ready. Thursday night I had school in Brigham. I left a little early so that I could get home and pick up Greg and the boys to go to Yetta's viewing. There was a great turn-out at the viewing, which is a tribute to how much she was loved. It is hard to see a family that you love hurting. Friday I took the afternoon off from work to go to the funeral. We also took the boys out of school, because they didn't want to miss the funeral either. It was a wonderful meeting. Kelsey Hodge gave the obituary, and she did a great job. After, they had time set aside for each of the grandchildren to go up and give a memory of their grandmother. What a touching thing to do! The kids all spoke from their hearts, and the thing that I took from it that was very motivating to me, was the example of love that they each had witnessed between their grandparents. The grandchildren all sang "I am a Child of God." Then Sue and Becky each spoke. I learned some really neat things about Yetta, and it was awesome to hear the testimonies of these great ladies. They are both such good examples to me. They sure have an amazing family, and we are really blessed to have them as friends. After visiting the cemetery, Greg and I had an appointment to have our taxes figured. Luckily, we will be getting some money back from our taxes this year, which I guess is one of the only good things to come out of the recession we have been experiencing this year. Greg and Tyson had a baseball thing at the high school later, so Kaden and I decided to go out to dinner and have a date night alone. We went to the Bar T L steak house. It was fun to get to talk to Kaden! He is such a fun boy. After, Kris and the girls came over and we watched "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." Kind of a silly show, but it was still fun. Saturday morning, I got up early and drove to Pocatello. Greg and the boys stayed home, because it was the last week of the regular season for their Junior Jazz basketball team. They won by 20! Considering they had a really bad team at the first of the year, it just goes to show how much they have improved with my husband's awesome coaching ability! When I got to Pocatello, I hopped in my parent's car and we drove to Jackson Hole. My nephew, Josh Kolsen, got married a couple of weeks ago, and Terrell and Ann were having an open house in their honor. It was great to see my brother and his family. Here is the happy couple...except Josh kept laughing while we were trying to take kissing pictures! Here is my brother Terrell, Nicole and Josh, and Ann. Here are my parents with the happy couple. In enjoyed getting the chance to ride with my parents and getting to visit with them. They are always great about letting you know what the rest of the family is up to. I have great parents! My niece, Stephanie had a little girl, Ainslee, a few months ago, and this was the first time I had seen her. She is adorable! This is Melissa's little boy, Ryder. He is such a happy little guy! This was the first I had met him too. What fun new little ones are! After we left Jackson, I called Ryan and Kristen. They met me and my parents for dinner in Pocatello at Butter Burrs. It was fun to get to talk to them for a little while. Carter cracked me up, and Kami dumped a glass of water that landed in Ryan's lap....so that was pretty funny! I got home late last night and found a house that had been cleaned by the men in my life. What a fun thing to come home to! Today we made cookies so that Greg and I could quickly run them to our home teaching and visiting teaching people. This month flew by so fast!

The Pierson Family is lucky to have such great friends like you :) Thanks again for dinner...it was wonderful. We all needed to get out, but especially Grandpa-I worry so much about him.
Your house is beautiful by the way! Thanks Again!
