Every year we head to St. George for the Utah Press Association convention. This year, Greg took the two little guys, Kris, and her two girls on Monday. Jay was playing ball Monday and Tuesday and they were able to go and watch. Ryan and Kristen were nice enough to house the six of them. Jayson started one of the games on Tuesday and pitched wonderfully. The weather was beautiful the whole week (which was hard to hear about when I was here at home in Tremonton working!). Dave and I (yes, Dave was picked on and had to work too) drove to St. George after I got off work on Thursday. It was fun to have the whole family together for the weekend. On Friday, we did a little shopping, the boys did some swimming, we had dinner and a birthday party for Ryan (I will post a picture of that on Tuesday, which is his real birthday!). It was fun getting to be together. On Saturday, it is tradition for the UPA to have a puppet show. This year Maddie and Carter were actually old enough to really get into it. Kaden and Tyson always enjoy it too. Makenzie thought it was kind of boring and slept through it all! After the puppet show, the men folk + Kaden and Tyson, went golfing. Kaden was lured into it by the promise of driving the cart. The Leader team, which was just our family, won the golf tournament, and Greg with his broken hand, won the longest drive! Pretty humorous considering he has to have surgery on it this Wednesday. Saturday night was the UPA awards dinner. Greg was sworn in as the new president of the association. He did a great job speaking. During the dinner, they had a raffle for a vacation. The man in charge of it had Madison stand up on the banquet table and draw out the winning ticket. After she drew out the name, the crowd started clapping for the winner. Maddie thought they were clapping for her, so she started bowing and saying, "Thank you!" It was hilarious. Later, someone that won something had the last name Carter. When people applauded for him, Carter thought everyone was clapping for him. I have such silly grandchildren!
