Our boys had two basketball games today. They had one game at 8:00 a.m. which is WAY too early on a weekend for me! They won that game, and so got a chance to play in the championship game. It is a 4th grade league, so Tyson was technically too young to be playing in it, but he did great. They had an undefeated season, winning the championship game 32-16. Kaden stayed home from school sick yesterday, so he didn't want to play a lot today, but Tyson scored 16 in the championship game. My wonderful parents made the ride up (which was EXTREMELY early for them-Thanks!).
Last night Greg had a church ball game. He had been to the doctor earlier in the day because he had ruptured the bursa sac on his elbow. He was worried about golfing next weekend, so he went in and got a cortisone shot for it. Well, he had a veteran's (old man's) game last night for church basketball. The other team had a huge 6 ft. 4 in. guy that Greg was defending. He tried going for a ball, and got his finger pushed way back to his wrist. It hurt pretty bad, but he kept playing the second half anyway. After the game, it was pretty swollen. We got home and he began to soak it. He kept bringing his hand out of the ice water, and it would be swollen even more. I finally talked him into going to the hospital around 10:00 last night to have it x-rayed. He texted me a while later just one word.....SH**. That is when I knew it was broken. He didn't want to have to get a cast because of the upcoming golf tournament. I told him there were more important things in life than golf......and his reply was, "What?" You get the picture. The bone in his hand is broken into three pieces, so he is supposed to go and see a surgeon to probably get a pin put in. We'll see how well he golfs with it now! The good news is that it is the same arm as the hurt elbow, the bad news is that it is his right hand, and he is right-handed!

So sorry Greg!
If you don't already have a Dr. you love, I would strongly recommend Alpine Orthopedic in Logan next to the specialty hospital. Unfortunately, we've treated more than our share of broken bones there. Last count was five, maybe 6?
Tell the boys good job. That's way cool! Tell Greg we are sorry that he probably won't be golfing next week. We're sorry to hear about his hand and elbow. :(
So Kass and I were feeling left out last night that we didn't get a final text message, until the boys told us what it said! Tell Greg I can teach him how to be left handed. I'm pretty good at it, you know, since I've done it for so long!
Church Ball Hero! That is what you get for playing church ball! Just Kidding! Sherri, I wonder how long you will have to do his hair? I think you should give him a mohawk! (I don't know how to spell that). That is awesome for your boys! Glad they didn't get hurt like their Dad!
