I talked to Greg and Tyson this afternoon on the phone. They had been to a Cubs spring training game in Phoenix. Greg complained that it was uncomfortably hot.....kind of hard for me to feel bad for him! It was about 35 degrees outside and raining here when I was talking to him. Tyson also got a bunch of autographs while there. One person he got an autograph from was Josh Hamilton. Sounds like they are having fun. Today at school I had one of those funny experiences that again makes me happy to be a third grade teacher. One of my students is a big BYU fan. A couple of days ago he was telling me about how BYU was ranked third in the nation. He was so excited as he was giving me all the details. Today he came up to me to tell me that they are going down in their rankings. I told him I thought that I had heard something about them losing a recent game. He told me they had lost by 17 points and so their standing would be going down. He then proceeded to tell me that he thought part of the reason for their loss was that one of their players was off the team now. I expressed that I had not heard that. He then explained, "Yeah....he was doing CHASTITY." Do you know hard it is to keep a straight face when someone is being completely serious with you and you are dying to crack up? Anyway, I have now listened to the news....and sure enough, BYU had a player break the honor code and is now off the team. I think I like this student's explanation much better than the one on the news though!
