St. George March 2010

We had a good time in St. George this past weekend. We took off Wednesday after school (March 17th). Tyson's ball team had 2 games on Thursday and 2 games on Friday. They didn't win any of their games, but I sure could see improvement on how well they played. Thursday night a huge windstorm came in and we were all covered in red dirt...we had it in our teeth, in our ears, our hair was full....etc.! Gross! It was also Utah Press Association, so Greg had meetings. Because of this, we took the Leader trailer behind the car that we loaded with baseball gear and Greg's scooter. Greg arrived late to the second game on Thursday evening on the scooter, so after the wind storm came up (and of course the game went in to 2 extra innings because of a tie), Greg had to ride the scooter back to St. George from Ivans. Not fun! The whole team met at Golden Corral to eat after the game (about 9:00), and we sure were a motley looking crew! Friday after the games, we went over to the Washington City Rec Center where Jayson works to let the boys from the team swim. Kaden had fun climbing the rock wall there. Luckily Kassi thought to take pictures for me! I swear Kaden looks like he is part monkey the way he climbed so far! Below are some of the pictures of Tyson playing ball. The pictures of Tyson wearing his blue jersey Kaden took....the ones in the red jersey Greg took. We sure had a good time. We got home tonight to lots of laundry and the realization that tomorrow we go back to work, making our own beds, and cooking our own food. I think I could get used to a life of luxury! Saturday night was the UPA awards dinner. This past year Greg has served as the president of the Utah Press, so he conducted the meeting. It has been a big responsibility and a lot of work for him. The Leader took quite a few awards. Dave took a first place for best news article which was exciting....it was too bad that he and Kris couldn't come this week....someone had to stay home and keep the newspaper running. We were glad Jayson and Kassi could come to the awards banquet, but we missed having the rest of the family there like we have been able to do in the past.

Sounds like you had fun! I get used to the luxury of a maid really fast when we're out of town. We call it the bed fairy! Ryan wants to climb the rock wall and says it isn't fair that he NEVER gets to go anywhere! :)
