Christmas in June

I am a little late posting these pictures. On Tuesday, June 16th, we headed to Ogden to see a train tour of the movie, "A Christmas Carol," that will be opening in theaters this Christmas season. Ogden was the only place in Utah the train was stopping, so we decided we needed to check it out. It was pretty impressive, but there were a ton of people there, so the wait was about 3 hours. Since the line was so long, we bought tickets to the Union Station museums, and took turns taking the boys to see the car museum, the gun museum, the train museum, etc. It helped to pass the time much more quickly. After the wait, you got to board the train. In each car they had different things from the upcoming movie. Here is Tyson posing with a couple of the busts they made the characters up to look like. The movie is animated, but done with actual actors. The actors wear suits like the one behind Kaden. Each of those dots is a camera that shoots to a computer. The computer then records where and how the animation should move. It was really interesting. They also had costumes that they designed before they drew in the characters' clothes. A museum in England had lent them scripts from the original "Christmas Carol" to display. There were lots of frames on the walls that were actually TV's showing interviews with the actors, and showing how they made the movie. This picture was taken in the end car. After we finished with the train, they had an inflatable building where you could go and watch in 3D a small portion of the upcoming movie. They had fake snow blowing and Christmas carolers walking around singing. It was pretty fun, but took most of the day.
