Sports...Sports....Sports!

Today has been a sports filled day. Kaden and I started out the morning at his 9:15 a.m. soccer game. It was soooo cold! The wind was blowing like crazy and it was below 40 degrees- the field he plays on has no wind breaks of any kind. Kaden played really well though. He scored a goal, and his team won the game 3-1. We then headed over to Tyson's game that was already in progress. They lost that game, which was sad, but they sure are improving. We got home from that game about 12:30. We quickly had some lunch and did a little house-cleaning. At 2:00 I had to be back to the ballgame to work in the Pepsi wagon for the team's fundraiser. I left at 4:30, and Kaden went with me to grade papers and get some things ready in my classroom for Monday. We headed back to the ballpark to Tyson's 6:00 game (we were a little late). They played a 9 year old team that was really good. Tyson pitched some really good innings, and they ended up winning 12-11. We got home tonight after the game, and were able to listen to part of Dixie State's last game of the season on the web. Tyson Bailey started pitching for Dixie, but was pulled after 1.1 innings. He had 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 errors, 2 walks, and 1 strike out. Jayson was then put in to pitch. He pitched 6.2 innings. While he pitched there were 4 hits, 1 run, 1 error, 1 walk, and 4 strike outs. The radio announcers were going nuts over what a great game he was pitching. They couldn't believe that in 6.2 innings he had only walked 1 player! They kept using words like, "amazing", "incredible", "impressive". It was so much fun to listen to! They show a baseball diamond on the web page while the announcers are talking, and they had a picture of Jayson that kept showing on the screen. After 8 innings, Dixie was winning 9-4. For the 9th inning, Dixie pulled in Todd Morlock to pitch. It got a little scary at this point. In 1 inning Grand Canyon University scored 4 runs on 3 hits, 4 errors, 1 walk and no strike outs. Wow! Dixie won 9-8. Above is a picture of the Dixie team with the winning banner after the game (thanks to Kassi taking a picture and sending it on her phone!). They won the Pac West Little World Series. Jayson was named as a member of the All Tournament Team and also as the MVP of the game!!! What a great way for him to end his college career!!! Makes a mom so proud!!
