Selling Lambs 2014

We were so glad the lambs actually lived to see the auction this year.  Kaden's lamb actually died the first day we weighed them in. The halter had worked down the lamb's face and Kaden was trying to pull the lamb over to fix it.  The lamb kept pulling back, which kept tightening the halter around its mouth.  I didn't realize at the time that lambs don't breathe through their noses.  Anyway, the lamb fell over dead from lack of oxygen.  Brad Stevenson and another fair volunteer came over and did chest compressions on the lamb until they got it breathing again.  Pretty weird.  Then a few weeks later, Tyson's lamb started suffering from prolapse (its innards were coming out its behind).  Brad and a friend of his did surgery on the lamb, putting a pvc pipe up its rear end.  The next day when Grandpa Reed went outside, he thought the lamb was dead.  He called Brad to come get rid of it.  When he got out there, the lamb was up eating.  Anyway, we were just happy they survived long enough to sell this year!
