Tyson surgery

On February 5th Tyson had surgery on his knees.  He has Blount's Disease which causes his knees to bow.  If we didn't do something soon, the doctors predicted he would have to have his knees replaced while in his twenties.  He was one nervous boy!  They came in to do some preliminary things to him before surgery and his blood pressure and pulse were really high.  The anesthesiologist took pity on him, and took him back to give him laughing gas before they even tried to put in an IV.  They put four screws on the outside of each leg to hold his growth plates on his legs so that the outside edges of his legs cannot grow.  This will allow the damaged inside growth plates to hopefully do some catch up growth.  The surgery was a lot more painful for Tyson than what we had been led to believe beforehand.  Luckily he has been pretty tough about it all.  He has been on crutches for a week and a half, but is not wanting to use them any more.
