On August 16th I went with some friends to Island Park. They had been inviting me to go with them for years, but I have always had scheduling problems. They always go up and stay in my friend, JaNette Rhodes' cabin. I had never been up there. It was beautiful. It was fun to hang out with such fun people. Some of the ladies had left on Wednesday, but three of us went up Thursday afternoon. When we got there we had dinner and then did a favorite song match game. They played a favorite son of each of ours and you had to guess whose song it was. It was a lot easier to guess than I thought it would be. Each night a few of us gave a favorite thing to each person in the group. So we got lots of fun gifts. The next day we went and floated the river. It was so much fun to raft down the river. We saw a few moose and had lots of laughs. Each of us took a turn cooking a favorite meal of ours. We shared recipes and cleanup detail. There was four-wheeling, walks, and lots of laughter. Saturday we went in to West Yellowstone and did some shopping and went to the play, "The Drowsy Chaperone". It was really funny. Sunday we got up and went to church and then went back to the cabin for dinner and a devotional about the temple. Connie Archibald had got to tour the Brigham temple early and was able to give us a lot of interesting details. She also showed us a video the West Stake had made about the temple. I borrowed the video and showed it to our family on Monday night when I got home for family home evening. It was lots of fun. I almost hated to come home to reality and 8:00 faculty meeting on Monday morning.
