Today we traveled to Erda to Dave and Kristen's house to celebrate Kenzie's 2nd birthday. Time sure does fly fast. Madison and Makenzie roped Grandpa into reading lots of books.

And then Kenz decided to do a little reading on her own.

Kenzie got a toy kitchen for her birthday. She had a bunch of food that was made out of pillow-soft material. Greg thought it was funny to get her attention and throw the food at her....and she would get these great facial expressions!

Madison had a love/hate relationship going with Tyson. One minute she was snuggled up to him...and the next she would be tackling him and beating on him! (She actually was having fun during the beatings......she wasn't mad.)

We gave Makenzie this little couch that folds out to a bed. She would fold it up and say, "It's a couch," then pull it back out and say, "It's a bed....lay down," and then lay on it. She is so funny!

Kenz and I were snuggling on the couch, and the next thing I knew, she was asleep....almost put me to sleep too!

Here is the darling cake Kris made for her birthday. Makenzie loves Toy Story. We woke her up to come and have cake. She was happy (but still sleepy) until everyone started to sing. By the time our family, most of Dave's family, and the girls from the house all started to sing, it must have been pretty loud and startled the sleepy girl. She started to cry. It was sad! She wasn't sure she wanted to blow out the candle ("It's hot," she'd say). Maddie helped her....but had to make a great wish about everyone being happy and traveling safe before she blew. It is always sad to say good-bye when it is time to leave. Kenz cried and wanted to "Go home with Grammy." Made me happy she loves us....but sad to see her cry! Sure do love this cute part of our family.
