Tyson's surgery
On January 28 Tyson had surgery to remove the screws from his knees that he had put in last year. He had had a problem with very bow-legs. He has grown enough this last year that with the screws and plates not allowing growth on the outside of his legs, he is now somewhat knock kneed. Hopefully as he now grows, it will end up with his legs straight. He handled the surgery like a trooper. The worst part for the poor kid was the IV. When they got in to remove the screws, bone had started to grow over the screws, and they had to chisel. The surgery took longer than expected. I thought this would make it much worse, but he has been really tough through it all.
